2002 Sorby Adams ‘Cabernet Sauvignon’ Sparkling

Barossa Valley SA

4 Star Winery

Est: 2004

Winemaker: Simon Adams

Vineyards/Winemaking: Simon Adams & his wife Helen purchased a 3.2ha vineyard in 19966, which had been planted by Paster Franz Julius Lehmann (none other than Peter Lehmann’s father) in 1932. Peter Lehmann always referred to it as ‘Dad’s Block’. They have added 0.25ha of Viognier which, as one might expect, is used in a Shiraz Viognier blend. The name Sorby Adams have overtones of a chameleon: it comes from a female ancestor of long-serving Yalumba winemaker Simon Chose full name is Simon David Sorby Adams.
