2008 Murray Street Vineyard Semillon Barossa Valley SA 5 Star Winery Est: 2004 Winemaker: Andrew Seppelt Vineyards/ Winemaking: Andrew & Vanessa Seppelt have moved with a degree of caution in setting up Murray Street Vineyard, possibly because of inherited wisdom. Andrew is a direct descendant of Benno & Sophia Seppelt who built Seppeltfield and set the family company bearing their name on its path. They have 46ha of vineyards, one block at Gomersal, the other at Greenock, with the lion’s share going to Shiraz. In 2000 I had the amazing opportunity of working a vintage in France at Chateau de Roquefort, from this experience that the majority of my winemaking concepts were developed. Grape: 100% Semillon Tasting notes: Tight and citrusy, with a generosity unusual of Barossa Semillon, you can clug it while it’s young or leave it a while and you won’t be disappointed, made from 1948 year old vines. 93/100 Drink by date: 2018 Food Pairings: Braised Lamb Shanks with cracked pepper and parmesan Risotto. Bottle – 750ml Price: $17.90 (Incl. GST) |
