2022 Brockenchack 'McKenzie Williams 1896' Riesling Eden Valley
Our Mackenzie William is named after the eldest grandson of Trevor and Marilyn Harch. Our Eden Valley Riesling is delicately hand-picked from our longstanding vines planted in the 1960s, 1980s, and from our cherished, deep rooted 1890s vines – thought to be some of the oldest in Australia. Each batch of fruit bestows its unique attributes, creating quintessential Eden Valley citrus and minerally characters which we are so well known for, and a complexity that ensures our dry style’s impressive length of finish.
A vintage with some beautiful warm nights has influenced the aromas of our 2019 Riesling, giving a perfume of fragrant florals and young lime leaves. Far reaching flavours travel by express, widely across the palate, with waves of soft citrus, pears and classic brown lime cordial meeting in the middle. As ever, variety and region form the finest partnership while creating our Riesling, finishing dry, with a structured natural acid mineral finish. This dry style Riesling, when cellared carefully, will mature gracefully for at least 10 to 12 years, if not longer.
Food pairing ideas: our Riesling sings alongside a myriad of seafood delicacies, Asian cuisines, creamy pastas or good old fish & chips.
