Brockenchack 'Jack Harrison' Shiraz Eden Valley

Brockenchack

$60.00 Regular price $65.00

Named after the grandson of Brockenchack founders Trevor and Marilyn Harch; Jack is currently in training to become Brockenchack’s future winemaker and viticulturist. Made from our single vineyard Shiraz vines which boast an average vine age of 50yrs, this cool climate premium Shiraz is handcrafted to be elegantly smooth and approachable.

These grapes are hand selected and picked at their optimum Baumé. The wine is traditionally made by partially crushing the grapes into open top fermenters with 10-14 days on skins. It is then basket pressed and left to mature in new French oak barrels for a minimum of 2 years.

Our 2015 Jack Harrison Shiraz is created to be an intense, yet approachable wine style, in aroma, flavour, complexity and nature. Substantial time spent maturing in fine French oak, then further bottle ageing prior to release, gives us the opportunity to deliver our Eden Valley Shiraz, developed as expected. A seriously deep ruby complexion gives away the generosity of what’s to come. Developed brooding aromas of mocha, olives, blackberry and bramble are instantly available, enhanced by an elegant French Oak back drop, lifting further and further with time spent in glass. The palate is a textural ensemble of the richest, ripe, gathered black fruits imaginable, weighted and silken in delivery. Elements of mixed spices and earthiness continue to impress, in succulent waves, as silken savoury tannins gently warm the palate. Unctuous natural acidity keeps every single element in check, guaranteeing the balances required to take this Shiraz easily into the next two decades, for further enjoyment.
