Chalk Hill - Alpha Crucis 2018 Chardonnay

Chalk Hill

Textured with wonderful pure fruit. Silky and sensual on the palate, with stone fruit, citrus and vine flower notes. The finish is long with roasted hazelnuts and wet stone/minerals.
  • Colour

    Straw colour with yellow notes.
  • Aroma

A perfumed Chardonnay with stone fruits, melon and whipped cream notes. A hint of quality oak in the background.
  • Palate

The palate is medium bodied with excellent balance between fruit, acid and oak. Its silky texture combines with white nectarine notes, some honeyed melon and fine whipped cream. The finish is dry and lingering with beautiful minerality and a hint of roasted nuts.
  • Notes

The handpicked fruit was partially whole-bunch pressed before being transferred to French oak barrels (of which 10% were new) for natural fermentation. Some of the barrels underwent malolactic fermentation. The wine spent 10 months in French oak 300L hogsheads prior to barrel selection and blending. Production: 2400 bottles.
  • Ageing Potential

Will reward cellaring for 5-7 years or more.
