Chalk Hill Barbera McLaren Vale
Aroma: Highly perfumed, with lifted dark cherry fruit, floral notes and a hint of spice.
Palate: A medium bodied wine that is bright and fruit driven. Dark cherry fruits and rose petals combine with layers of spice. The acid is firm and provides a refreshing finish
The warm, dry vintage produced the best Barbera fruit we have seen since the Chalk Hill Vineyard was planted in 1998. To capture the natural flavours of the variety we handle the wine gently throughout the winemaking process. The fruit was handpicked, fermented gently on skins for 7 days, then transferred to older French oak barrels. We want to see the perfume, vibrancy and bright fruit characters come to the fore.
